Frequently an extensive and sometimes expensive web site analysis is not necessary to identify major problems with a web site. For most small to medium-sized web sites and sites that have never received very much traffic from search engines, a basic review may be all that is needed to identity the problems that are preventing the web site from showing up on search engine results pages.
Getting a site to rank well today is almost exponentially more difficult than it was a few years ago prior to Google’s launch of multiple recurring ranking algorithm updates known by their code names Panda and Penguin.
Panda takes a very critical look at the informational value and uniqueness of the textual content found in a site. Penguin reviews the quality of the links pointing to a site. Web site owners have been hit hard with other ranking updates that are detrimental to a sites ranking ability. Google has taken an aggressive approach to removing what they deem to be poor quality web sites from their search results pages.
Some of the penalties applied to sites were justified, especially when site owners copy content from other web sites or have engaged the services of poor quality link builders. These issues were clear violations of Google’s Webmaster Guidelines. But a lot of good sites that never violated the guidelines suffered collateral damage because something about their web site caused Google’s automated ranking algorithms to conclude that the site was indeed in violation. We seek to identify these issues, as well.
If your Google traffic dropped off sharply over the past two years, do you know why?
A Web Site Review identifies the problem areas with a site that are likely to create penalties with search engines. We not only identify the problems, but we offer solutions that a site owner can either apply themselves, or pass on to their web site designer or developer for resolution. If those options are not available, in most cases we can fix the issues for you for an additional fee.
What We Provide
The deliverable for this service is a Web Site Review report that details the issues that we find. We not only identify the issues, but also provide detailed explanations as to why some aspect of a web site’s content or design is likely to be causing the problems. As previously mentioned, the review includes recommended solutions and detailed instructions for applying these solutions.
Cost For Services
A Web Site Review will cost in the range of $400 to $600 for most small to medium-sized web sites. Larger web sites and sites with very serious issues may want to consider our more comprehensive Web Site Evaluation service.
We do a visual review of your site and provide an exact quote for this service prior to the start of the project, so there will not be any surprises regarding costs. Keyword Research service is a separate service that you may wish to consider if you are not certain about the keywords that your customers are using most often to search for your products or services.
